Intensive Treatment Programs

CHOICES
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), also known as CHOICES is designed to allow clients the opportunity to receive intensive, high quality chemical dependency treatment in the least restrictive environment within their own communities.  Clients may choose from either a day or evening CHOICES program. It is offered on an outpatient basis and in the local community jail.  The jail program is known as CADET.

Target Population: The CHOICES program is targeted to adult chemically dependent individuals who reside in Wayne and Holmes counties. The CADET program is aimed specifically at providing services to the criminal justice population and is physically located at the Justice Center.

Admission Criteria:

  • Age 18 or older.
  • Qualifying presenting problem/diagnosis.
  • Meets Level of Care criteria (ODADAS protocols).
  • Signed Treatment Consent.
  • Ability to identify goals on a treatment plan.
  • Ability to engage in and benefit from IOP.

The CHOICES program involves two distinct phases of treatment, Phase I provides chemical dependency treatment to individuals three days per week, three hours per day.  Clients involved in Phase I may receive group and individual therapy, educational programs, family treatment and encouragement for involvement in 12-Step groups.  Clients attend Phase I of this program with the total amount of sessions adjusted to meet individual needs.  Upon successful completion of Phase I clients are placed into Phase II which involves ongoing after care services.  Phase II focuses upon relapse prevention strategies and may terminate when the client has demonstrated understanding of the relapse process and personal relapse warning signs.

CADET

The CADET program has been in existence since 1990. CADET is offered two times a day, four days a week to inmates at the Wayne County Justice Center.  CADET sessions occur in the jail itself and is staffed with a full-time, certified counselor.

The CADET program offers clinical evaluation, an intensive outpatient program, a jail based aftercare group and an agency based aftercare for discharged inmates.

Group Treatment

Group Therapy

Group Therapy interventions are proven to be very effective for individuals with substance abuse or dependence and/or healing from psychological trauma.  Therefore, LCC offers a wide range of groups for clients.   The mental health and substance abuse/dependence groups offered will vary over time depending upon client need, demand for groups, and specialty areas of counselors.  Specialty groups for children and adolescents can also be offered.  Groups address various client needs which include stages of change, stress management issues, basic alcohol and other drug information, the biology of addiction, relationships, conflict resolution, family/parent education, relapse prevention, and a variety of creative interventions. Specialty groups are offered as part of Residential, IOP, or Non-Intensive group therapies. Aftercare groups are also offered for clients that have been in Residential and IOP groups.

 Admission Criteria:

  • Adults and children over 3 years of age.
  • Qualifying presenting problem/diagnosis.
  • Signed Treatment Consent.
  • Ability to identify goals on a treatment plan.
  • Ability to engage in and benefit from group counseling services.
